A kayaker has been missing for an hour off the coast of Bridlington, and only the crew's deep understanding of the local coastline offers hope of finding him. A member of the team, on his first call-out, rushes to a capsized dinghy and discovers a man slipping into unconsciousness in the water. Meanwhile, a fishing trawler has sunk off the Shetland Islands, and the fishermen and RNLI crew aboard must fight for their lives in the sea.
