Following Peter Rostov’s death from ricin poisoning, Green and Cassady find themselves entangled with the Russian consulate. Their inquiry begins with Rostov's work, revealing extensive travel between Russia and the United States. They then turn their attention to his brother, Karl. Soon, the brothers' connection to an illicit prostitution ring trafficking young Russian women becomes apparent. McCoy now faces the difficult task of persuading Karl Rostov to testify against Brezin, the father of one of the girls trafficked by the ring, in order to bring him to justice.
