Having already narrowed the field to three, the remaining six cooks now compete for a coveted spot alongside them. Judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace are joined by celebrated chef Theo Randall, formerly head chef at the River Cafe and now proprietor of Theo Randall at The Intercontinental, a Michelin-starred establishment. The amateur cooks are tasked by Randall with crafting a single, exceptional dish inspired by Italian flavors, given just ninety minutes for preparation and cooking. At this crucial stage, the judges' expectations are considerable; only the five strongest cooks will advance to join the three semi-finalists. This is the cooks’ final opportunity to demonstrate their skill and progress towards becoming the MasterChef champion of 2018.
