The final week of the preliminary rounds has arrived, and the remaining amateur cooks vie for a coveted spot in the quarter finals. Five hopefuls now have the chance to demonstrate to judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace that they possess the talent to become the 2016 MasterChef champion. They begin by preparing their Calling Card dishes – culinary creations that embody their individual cooking styles. After sampling each offering, John and Gregg independently select their preferred dish. Should both judges choose the same dish, they will then proceed to identify their second choice.
