This episode follows three boys navigating the complexities of school life at different ages. Twelve-year-old Louie has recently begun secondary school at Frederick Bremer and is finding it difficult to form friendships, leading him to skip classes. As his attendance deteriorates, home support worker Emma Austin is called in to offer assistance.
Devonté, also twelve, is among Mrs. Austin’s clients. A passionate fan of rap music, he frequently plays songs on his phone during lessons and breaks into spontaneous rhymes at inopportune moments. Burdened with responsibilities at home, caring for his mother, Devonté uses school as a refuge, often finding himself in trouble.
Charlie, sixteen, is a high-achieving student, yet the pressure of upcoming exams is triggering panic attacks. He finds solace in music. His band is scheduled to perform at the school concert, but will he conquer his anxiety and manage a stage appearance before a crowd of two hundred classmates?
