At Frederick Bremer School in East London, the focus this year is on the boys, and Head Teacher Jenny Smith is resolved to guide two particularly spirited students toward a promising future. Halil considers himself the most popular boy in the school; yet, despite his infectious laughter and playful demeanor, he consistently finds himself embroiled in minor scrapes. Meanwhile, Lemar bristles at the image of London "hoodies" congregating in large groups on the streets. His primary goal is to become a professional footballer, but the school staff are diligently working to ensure he has alternative paths should that dream not materialize.
