Tyler Florence presents the four remaining food truck teams with a culinary challenge: a taste of Nashville's legendary hot chicken, crafted by Aqui Hines, a local chef and owner of the restaurant 400 Degrees. The teams sample the fiery dish, gauging their tolerance for heat, before Tyler tasks them with developing their own hot dishes—excluding chicken, of course. Aqui Hines evaluates each creation, awarding the team with the most compelling dish a $500 prize. On their second day in Nashville, Tyler encourages the teams to devise original promotional strategies, mirroring the creative spirit of the city’s artists. Country singer Craig Wayne Boyd serves as judge, bestowing immunity upon the team whose promotion he deems most effective.
