For the eighty-fifth anniversary of the beloved Wizard of Oz, John Henson is in the laboratory's atmospheric chamber, measuring the velocity of tornado-themed desserts—a whimsical tribute to Dorothy’s perilous journey to Oz. Afterward, the bakers descend to the acid pit, a place where, it is said, spirits have been dissolving ingredients. Inspired by those who came before, particularly the Wicked Witch of the West, they craft melted witch desserts to appease these ethereal entities, and to the discerning palates of judges Carla Hall, Zac Young, and Stephanie Boswell.
