With leavers' day, exams, and the prom looming, the school strives to prepare two vastly different students for what lies ahead.
Fifteen-year-old Ryan, a recent addition to the school community, lives with Asperger’s. Uncertain about his future, the teachers endeavor to equip him for life beyond the familiar grounds. While Ryan yearns for a continued presence within the school walls, troubled top-set student Vinni is eager to depart. He recently entered temporary care and now the staff work tirelessly to guide him toward a more stable path. Will Vinni be able to transition from care back to his family? Can the teachers help him achieve the grades and opportunities befitting his potential, and will his behavior improve enough for him to attend the prom?
Perhaps more anxious than anyone, however, is headteacher Vic Goddard. He struggles to sleep in the weeks leading up to results day, awaiting news of whether the school will meet its targets.
