During a late-night excursion aboard a vessel operated by Marex, lawyer Jens Adam is shot and thrown overboard. Marex, a global leader in deep-sea mining of raw materials, particularly rare earths, aims to amass millions by extracting these metals essential to modern technology, found in nearly every mobile phone. Could Adam’s death be linked to the recent killing of an environmental activist who opposed seabed destruction? Or might his wife, Marte, driven by jealousy over his numerous affairs, have been responsible?
