This edition features several items of particular interest. A private in Captain Oates' regiment created an embroidered picture using sock-darning wool, a memorial to the captain's bravery. Also included is a copy of Beatrix Potter's *The Fairy Caravan*, inscribed to Fred Satterthwaite, who was depicted in the book as his dog, Metal. Two rare cornets, once played by local bands, are also part of the collection, as is a magnificent assortment of Masonic porcelain valued at over a quarter of a million pounds.
