From the grand setting of London's Victoria and Albert Museum, Michael Aspel hosts his inaugural episode of Antiques Roadshow. Joined by the established team of experts, they reveal a remarkable collection of unique artifacts: an original, handwritten poem by W. B. Yeats, early examples of Meissen porcelain from the dawn of European ceramic production, and a rare silver tobacco box salvaged from a London refuse bin. A valuable painting by a prominent 19th-century candlelight artist is also featured. Furthermore, John Bly shares insights with Michael on the art of uncovering the history held within a piece of furniture.
