Heather told Sam the baby in the photograph belonged to Susan, though it wasn’t Jason. Sam discovered Susan had delivered twins, but had been unconscious and unaware of having more than one child. The nurse had desired one of the infants, and Heather facilitated that desire. Heather explained the babies were fraternal twins and she selected the more aesthetically pleasing one for Susan. Sam learned the nurse's name was Betsy Frank, and that she was Franco’s mother. Sam departed without taking the letter Heather had penned for Steven. A wave of distress washed over her as she considered the possibility that the child she carried might still be Franco’s. Luke cautioned Carly against intimacy with Johnny. Johnny then appeared, and after Luke left, Carly confided in him that Luke believed he was exploiting her to retaliate against Sonny.
Olivia met Sonny at the Metro Court restaurant, seeking his assistance in managing Johnny's blackmail of Steve. As Johnny and Carly entered the restaurant, he openly taunted both Olivia and Sonny. Sonny, in turn, mocked Carly regarding Michael’s reaction to her relationship with Johnny. Johnny demanded Steve relinquish the list he had requested, and Steve reluctantly complied. Kate met with Ewen at the hospital, still troubled by Connie's actions. She asked him to hypnotize her, hoping to uncover Connie's plans.
Connie awoke after Ewen’s renewed efforts, and he questioned her about the weapon found in Kate’s office. Upset, Connie fled the room, colliding with Steve. He was taken aback by her sudden advance. Ewen ushered Connie back into the room. Olivia arrived, and Steve informed her of Connie's attempt to seduce him. Starr was compelled to conceal herself as Jason appeared. She overheard his conversation with Michael concerning Sonny and the accident.
Sonny then appeared, reiterating his warning to Michael to stay away from Starr. John declared to Anna his resolve to ensure Sonny faced justice for his transgressions. Luke, upon learning McBain’s past in the FBI and his review of Frank Smith's files, questioned Anna about John. John and Anna discussed Sonny in the hallway before he departed. Back in the room, Luke probed Anna about John. John subsequently encountered Kate and pressed her for information regarding the case. Agitated, she refused to assist him.
