Under the cover of night, two men infiltrated the Düsseldorf building authority, aided by a complicit employee. While photographing architectural plans within the building, they were discovered by a security guard. In the ensuing confrontation, they fatally wounded him, then staged the scene to resemble a robbery gone wrong.
