Schimanski and Thanner find themselves revisiting a case that had long evaded resolution. It occurred in 1978, when one of the bank robbers sustained serious injury and was subsequently executed inside the bank by the gang’s leader. The remaining perpetrators escaped, save for Zbiginiew Pawlak, the Pole who remained by his dead brother's side until the police arrived. During the ensuing investigation, Pawlak remained stubbornly mute. The press, recognizing his silence, christened him "Moltke," a moniker he retained even throughout his prison sentence, a testament to his unwavering refusal to speak.
