After his father's death, Rifki (Kemal Sunal) returns to his Turkish village intending to sell the family property and return to Germany. He's unexpectedly declared a saint by the villagers, and seemingly miraculous events occur: rain falls on the dry land after just half an hour of prayer, and people with disabilities regain movement, while single women find husbands. This newfound fame attracts unwanted attention. Mercenaries pressure Rifki into running for Mayor. Another candidate tries to bribe him to drop out. Rifki wins the election, but soon the villagers begin to question the source of his miracles and his leadership. The film is a comedy-drama exploring faith, politics, and personal change in a small community navigating tradition and modernization. It follows Rifki's rise to power and its subsequent downfall as the villagers discover that true miracles may not always be divine.
