In Beethovenstrasse, a man fell. His killer vanished into the crowd. The deceased, a private investigator from New York, had been pursuing an international network of blackmailers.
With the assistance of customs investigator Kressin, Sandy, the dead man's partner, assumed control of the investigation. He managed to infiltrate the blackmail ring, but the chaotic energy of the Cologne carnival deepened the mystery, obscuring the truth until it spiraled into a grim and violent climax.
