In August 1964, Kenneth Wolstenholme first presented highlights of the match between league champions Liverpool and Arsenal. Broadcast at 6:30 pm on BBC2, the program drew a mere fifty thousand viewers. Tonight, when highlights of the Premiership game between reigning champions Manchester United and, fittingly, Arsenal are shown, the audience is estimated to exceed five million.
