On Suunholt, a small, quiet island in the North Sea near Denmark, a man is discovered dead – a man well-known in Kiel. Years prior, Oliver Teuber was central to a corruption scandal. The deceased had seemingly established a new life and found love far from his past. On Suunholt, the commissioner encounters Famke Oejen, a woman who appears utterly withdrawn, who discovered her lover lifeless in their shared bathroom. Borowski finds himself drawn to the enigmatic atmosphere of the island’s peculiar inhabitants.
