As Kiel Week approaches, a state of emergency is declared. Three million visitors from across the globe are anticipated for Northern Europe's largest summer festival. It is at this juncture that a woman is discovered murdered in a vacant apartment in the heart of the city. The perpetrator has vanished without a trace, having clearly prepared a months-long hiding place. Inspector Borowski, surveying the victim’s apartment, is suddenly confronted by a wall of flames. For a fleeting moment, Eggers and the inspector lock eyes. Eggers desperately attempts to erase the evidence of his deed, and in a final act, saves Borowski. He then melts back into the burgeoning city crowds. A second body turns the tide; Borowski and Brandt are gripped by a chilling question: Are they facing a serial killer?
