Two inmates awaiting trial seized a prison officer and fled the facility. At the main gate, Sergeant Jakobs shot one of the escapees, a man named Suk, who was of Turkish origin.
Inspector Haferkamp found himself in a precarious position. Sergeant Wörlemann had accused Jakobs of acting too soon and without justification. Jakobs vehemently denied this. The fugitive Tomi Selzer, however, would be a crucial witness, but he remained at large, unwilling to return to prison. Though wrongly incarcerated, the hostage-taking incident meant Selzer now faced a potentially lengthy sentence. Haferkamp employed every resource at his disposal to locate the elusive witness, a pursuit that threatened to spiral into disaster.
