The question of whether to purchase, or not to purchase… it is a weighty one. Christina Trevanion finds herself in Warwickshire, exploring the childhood home of Anne Hathaway, wife of William Shakespeare. The cottage, nestled near Stratford-upon-Avon, dates back over five centuries and was once the family dwelling of Anne. Christina discovers that from the late 1700s onward, a steady stream of visitors – drawn by the enduring legend of the young lovers – began seeking out objects they believed held a tangible link to Shakespeare and his wife. Elsewhere, at an antique center in Long Marston, David Harper’s red team and Danny Sebastian’s blue team are hoping to acquire valuable pieces for sale at Charles Hanson’s auction, but will their efforts ultimately prove to be a mere matter of speculation?
