In 1987, capitalizing on his growing popularity in Europe, Prince embarked on a major tour to support his self-titled album. While sales were strong overseas, they were slowing in the U.S. To revitalize interest, he decided to film a live concert for theaters in America. Performing with his band – Cat Glover on dance, Boni Boyer on keyboards, Levi Seacer Jr. on bass, Miko Weaver on guitar, Sheila E. on drums, and Dr. Fink of the Revolution – the energetic show captures Prince's dynamic stage presence. Although the music video for "U Got the Look" is included, the film mainly features the band's unforgettable live performance.
