Retired military officer Caroline Upton is asked by antiques store owner Russell Carlisle to help locate the family of WWII Army officer Orin Newton before Christmas. Their goal is to return Orin’s personal belongings: his dress uniform, medals, and a collection of love letters from his fiancée, Alice. Initial clues are found in the uniform's details, but the search hits a wall when they discover Orin was captured and declared MIA. Caroline and Russell then turn to the love letters for answers about Orin’s fate and whether he ever returned to Alice.
