The film follows Stas Tarkowski, a Polish teenager, and Nel Rawlison, an eight-year-old English boy, who are kidnapped by Arabic extremists for political reasons. The boys are forced to adapt to a new and dangerous environment and eventually escape, beginning a difficult journey home. Their adventure leads them through challenging landscapes where they meet Kali and Mea, two resourceful Black children who become their allies. This friendship helps the boys survive and exposes them to a different culture. The journey becomes more complicated when Stas and Nel befriend an elephant. Relying on each other and their new friends, they navigate unfamiliar territory. The film explores themes of friendship, survival, and the power of connection, as the boys learn important lessons and build lasting bonds.
