Based on Antonio Gala's novel, this Spanish drama follows Desideria, a young woman whose passionate nature shapes a story of love and sexual discovery. As she prepares to marry Ramiro, her friends offer advice foreshadowing the difficulties to come. Back home, after discovering she is pregnant, Ramiro agrees to be the father. Sadly, the baby dies, and Desideria returns to Istanbul for comfort.She reconnects with Yaman and begins a passionate relationship, exploring sensuality and becoming involved in his hidden world as his lover and a sex worker for wealthy carpet merchants.
