Heyerdahl carefully recreated the conditions of ancient Peruvian navigation, using his knowledge of Pacific winds and currents for the journey. The film follows their 101-day expedition across the Pacific, showing their determination and courage as they face dangerous waves, harsh weather, and moments of uncertainty.
