Kaleil Isaza Tuzman and Tom Herman, friends since high school, create a website to connect people with local governments. This documentary follows the journey of their company, govWorks.com, from May 1999 to December 2000, and the strain it puts on their friendship. Kaleil secures funding, while Tom handles the technical side. A third partner seeks to buy the company; relationships shift; Tom’s daughter requires his attention. The business constantly needs money and improvements. Millions in venture capital arrive, bringing national media attention to Kaleil. Will the company or their friendship ultimately fail?
