During the Cold War, a Soviet submarine runs aground on a New England island. The commander assigns Lieutenant Rozanov the critical task of getting them off the sandbar before an international incident occurs. With time running out, Rozanov cautiously seeks help from the island's police chief and a visiting television writer. He must gain their trust to execute a plan: to present the crew as Norwegian sailors. Trapped and under increasing pressure, Lieutenant Rozanov navigates suspicion and skepticism while forging unexpected alliances. The film explores themes of trust, deception, and human connection against a backdrop of global political tension.
