Ordered by his superiors to discredit the respected public intellectual and writer Warczewski, whom they suspect of being a "camouflaged Zionist," Colonel Rozek recruits his attractive but inexperienced girlfriend, Kamila. He tasks her with gaining Warczewski's trust and reporting his activities. Though not committed to communism, Kamila agrees to the mission, working undercover as "Little Rose." As scenes alternate between Kamila's simple pleasures and her more sophisticated interactions with Warczewski, it becomes evident that the longer she spends with the professor, the stronger her feelings for him grow.
