Set in 1920s St. Petersburg, this film adapts a memoir to tell the story of homeless boys navigating life on the streets. They are taken in by a correctional school modeled after Fyodor Dostoevsky's ideas, dedicated to educating and rehabilitating those marginalized by society.The boys are resourceful and often mischievous, making it difficult for the teachers to earn their trust. Yet, the school's staff persistently work to connect with them. Among them is Vicknixor, the director, an intellectual figure who becomes a source of inspiration for the boys as they seek a path forward.The film explores the transformative power of education and the strength of young people, focusing on themes of redemption, friendship, and the enduring human spirit in the face of adversity.
