Deconstructing Harry (1997)

Harry Block is a writer who finds it hard to distinguish between what's real and what he invents. He often uses the lives of people he knows, or his own experiences, as material for his stories, weaving them into his writing. This process, though, puts a strain on his relationships, as those who inspire him feel like he's intruding, betraying them, or getting things wrong. As Harry tries to balance his art with his personal life, he has to carefully navigate the complicated feelings and misunderstandings that come with being a writer. His story looks at creativity, loyalty, and the difficulties of relationships when the line between reality and imagination becomes unclear.
