In 1975, Jacques Cousteau led an unprecedented oceanographic expedition aboard his ship "Calypso" and a submarine. Departing from South America, he and his crew journeyed to Antarctica, exploring varied marine environments. They sailed through islands full of life, reefs rich with coral, and huge icebergs reflecting the sunlight. As they traveled south, the crew found remarkable underwater landscapes like active volcanic craters. Exploring the deep waters of Antarctica, they discovered many previously unseen creatures. Captain Cousteau's pioneering voyage made him among the first to dive beneath the ice of the world’s southernmost continent, significantly expanding our knowledge of Earth's marine ecosystems.
