In 17th century France, a traveling theatrical troupe – Serafina, Pulcinella, and Isabella – captivates audiences with their performances and undeniable charm. Adapted from a novel by Theophile Gautier, the story follows the company's arrival at the isolated castle of Baron de Sigognac. The Baron, a charming but rough young man, is instantly drawn to Serafina. He joins the troupe, but Serafina subtly manipulates him into pursuing Isabella, a younger woman grieving a loss. The film explores love, deception, and attraction within the vibrant world of traveling theater.
