This is the story of Dolas, a determined man who escapes a prisoner-of-war camp and journeys across Europe to reach Cyprus. His journey takes a dangerous turn when his ship is attacked by an Italian submarine. Miraculously rescued, Dolas and other sailors are drafted into the French Foreign Legion in Beirut. There, he unexpectedly discovers a talent for cooking, offering a moment of lightness amidst the harsh realities of war.
