Following World War II, this film explores the complicated relationships that develop when a powerful corporation tries to buy farmland in Georgia. The story follows two landowners – a white veteran and a Black farmer – who both strongly refuse to sell their land despite intense pressure from the corporation.As conflict grows between these groups, the two landowners form an unlikely partnership based on their mutual determination to protect their values and independence. This alliance is challenged by a self-serving person – the husband of the majority landowner – who wants to profit from the situation.The film examines themes of strength, friendship, and resisting exploitation during a time of significant economic change in post-war America. Through the experiences of these two individuals, it presents a moving story of human resilience and resolve against corporate power.
