A Month by the Lake (1995)

In 1937, at their Italian villa on Lake Como, Miss Bentley enjoys her usual annual visit. After her father's death, she's surrounded by a diverse group, including Major Wilshaw. The major, who hasn't felt desire since World War I, is captivated by Miss Beaumont, a young American who left finishing school. She playfully teases him, while Miss Bentley finds herself admiring him in ways beyond the physical. This blend of humor, memories, and personal change illustrates how past events influence relationships during a bygone era.
