During World War II in occupied Norway, doctor Martin Stensgard tries to stay neutral. His wife ignores the danger around them, clinging to a false sense of normalcy. But their quiet life is disrupted when family members join opposing sides of the resistance.Their daughter, Karen, is a dedicated supporter of the rebels led by Gunnar Brogge. Meanwhile, their son is drawn to Nazi ideology after returning from studies, influenced by his uncle. Captain Koenig, the young German commandant, enforces strict rules while increasingly worried about growing local resistance. This drama explores how each character must face their own convictions and allegiances amidst war and uncertainty.
