During a heavy rain in Rome, a young prostitute is found dead in a park. Detectives investigate the brutal murder, questioning several possible suspects. These include Nino, a playful teenager drawn to women; Canticchia, a clever pickpocket with a history of trouble; a soldier on leave seeking city pleasures; and a mysterious tourist hiding his origins. Each suspect gives their account of the day of the murder, all claiming innocence. The police interviews reveal a complex network of relationships and hidden desires within the city's darker side. The investigation explores themes of love, lust, greed, and violence, as the detectives try to separate fact from lies and solve the chilling murder and find justice for the victim.
