In Oregon, Hank Stamper works with his father, Henry, in their logging business, cutting and shipping logs. As their town faces financial hardship and other loggers strike, Hank pushes his family to work even harder. His wife worries about his relentless focus on work and urges him to prioritize family. Things get more complicated when Leland, Hank's estranged half-brother, joins the team, adding to the family's existing problems. The Stampers must deal with conflicts within their family and pressures from the outside world as they face questions of loyalty, their family history, and the cost of their way of life.
