Гетто (2006)

In 1942 Vilna, Nazi forces annihilate 55,000 Jews, confining the 15,000 survivors to a seven-block ghetto. Twenty-two-year-old commander Kittel is assigned to administer the ghetto, wielding power over life and death. After discovering Hayyah stealing a kilo of beam from the German army, he sentences her to die. Learning she was a former singer, he decides to revive the ghetto's theater and organize performances. Jewish Chief of Police Gens uses the theater and a sewing factory to save lives, navigating a morally complex path where he must sometimes sacrifice individuals to preserve others.
