A French Woman (1995)

During World War II and its aftermath, this moving story follows Jeanne as she navigates a difficult marriage. When her husband Louis leaves for war in 1940, Jeanne faces loneliness and finds comfort with his fellow soldiers. Even after they reunite following his return from a prisoner-of-war camp, their relationship is strained. Relocating to Berlin, Jeanne develops a connection with Matthias, a German industrialist. This complicates things when Louis is sent to Vietnam, and Matthias follows Jeanne back to France. As they travel the world together, their bond remains strong.
