Ад для героев (1962)

During World War II, a group of American soldiers is unexpectedly ordered back into combat while heading for a rest. While most of their unit retreats from a heavily defended German pillbox across a minefield, a small number are left behind to protect the front line. They devise a plan to trick the Germans into thinking a large force is still there. Driven by courage, Reese leads a small team in an assault on the pillbox, but the attempt fails with the loss of his fellow soldiers. When the rest of the platoon returns, Reese faces possible court-martial. Determined to prove himself, he undertakes a risky solo mission to confront the pillbox again.
